Who We Are

Hello there! (in Obi-Wan Kenobi’s voice) 👋
You might be wondering, who’s behind this site? 🤔
Well, it’s us—the MovementWorld.com team!
We are a small, dedicated team from Finland. 🇫🇮
As you may know, Finland has been ranked the happiest country in the world every year since 2018! 💪
Our journey began in 2017 when our co-founder Joel Hakala launched the website eroonjumeista.fi for people in Finland. Through the website and social media, Joel has been teaching useful tips and tricks for self-care.
Over time, the team grew. For example, licensed physiotherapist Kaarle “Kalle” Suonio joined in 2022 to create the best content possible for our customers.
In early 2023, Joel and his friend Kimmo Saarni launched hyvinvointiheimo.fi, meaning "well-being tribe." This site brought together top Finnish experts, including licensed physiotherapists Markkus Puolakainen and Teemu Viskari, who specialize in the nervous system.
The success of the new website inspired us to think bigger. Finland is a small country of 5.5 million people, and we wanted to share a bit of Finnish happiness with the rest of the world. That’s why we launched MovementWorld.com at the end of 2023.
So far, we think we’re doing a pretty good job! MovementWorld.com already has over 35,000 happy customers, as shown in the picture below from our online course platform:
